I was wondering about CHF and heart disease
I had a pet die from CHF, but mammals make AA, so is amount of AA not relevant to Congestive Heart Failure?
it was a cat, I thought cats made AA?
How Do I avoid CHF?
low blood pressure?(lots of nitrates in the diet, like spinach/rhubarb)http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/90/1/1.full.pdf
dont smoke
use AA to help prevent/reverse CAD?
dont drink alchol much?
avoid damage to heart valves?
if I have CHF, can I recover?
thanks

CHF is a co-enzyme Q10 deficiency disease.
Most of us can make our own CoQ10 - and the heart (and pancreas) have the highest concentrations. As we age, say over age 40, we start to make less (and something like 17 steps, requiring 7 vitamins are required for the human body to make its own CoQ10).
FYI, CoQ10 is the enzyme that breaks ATP releasing energy. No CoQ10 - no standard energy release in the mitochondria.
Presumably "pets" suffer the same malfunction as they get older.
I wrote this article after discovering that a) statin cholesterol drugs lower the body's production of CoQ10, and b) the incidence of CHF has tripled since the statin drugs were introducedhttp://www.internetwks.com/owen/coq10.htm
