Friend has chest pain sometimes
48yo, 8-12% bodyfat
I told him to
get more MG, vit K, proline/lysine(eggwhites are a good source) 10+ grams vitC

He eats a low fat, high nitrate diet

benfits of nitrates from fruit/veg(helps avoid/kill cancer, helps blood pressure)

any other things I should tell him?

That is a pretty good protocol.

A major point is that the vitamin C is the key.

You can remove all the other suggestions, and as long as he takes vitamin C - his heart health will improve.

However, if he takes everything else, but leaves out the vitamin C, if Linus Pauling was correct, his heart health will get worse.

THanks
that's pretty much the protocol I use, cept I take 3-5grams AA and 1-2 lipo-C
but why is AA so vital to the protocol?
is it because with AA, the body can't make collagen, and it needs collagen to fix arteries
without collagen, the body uses LPA and lpa binds to more LPA and causes plaques to form and grow?
That's what I say as the explanation, but I think I'm not quite correct
thanks

According to one of the greatest scientists and thinkers of all time, the root cause of heart disease is a vitamin C deficiency.

This "unified theory" is discussed in Linus Pauling's video lecture, and in their Unified Theory paper. Links at http://PaulingTherapy.com

And Dr. Levy, a board certified cardiologist, logically reduced every known CVD risk factor to a vitamin C deficiency. The result is his book STOP AMERICA'S #1 KILLER.

I think you nailed it:

different forum I said
again, do you think you can really win the war on CAD if you don't take Vit C?

response:
Absolutely. There are many studies - Dr. Gould has an impressive list and then, of course, there are some from Pritikin and Ornish, showing plaque reversal. Dr. Esselstyn and Dr. Davis documents many patients with plaque reversal, etc. So, sure, it can be done.

And to be clear: I am NOT saying that Vitamin C will not help. Personally, I think it will and I think there are a couple of studies that indicate this. I am just saying that in my opinion the heavy hitters are LDL-P and Lp(a) levels based on the research.

my response
what studies?
now maybe my remark wasnt clear, I mean vit C in supplemental or from food
but show your work

as you know a lot, right, more than pauling or Dr levy... the problem with looking at LDL is that isnt the root of the problem, the root is LPA and thats why you need vit C

any comments

why are people so quick to deny vit C is needed?
I dont know if I can give the URL of the other forum, or I would
but the other forum is all about preventing/fixing heart disease!

but isnt it more than that?

it's not an opinion, its a fact you need grams of vitC daily for optimal health

is someone is BMI 40 they might say, "i'm sexy/ im healthy"

"sexy"- is a matter of opinion

"healthy"- as in how likely are you to get a disease? no, being fat is not healthy

when people laugh at me for taking vit C, making a point to take it every few hours,...I consider them dumb?
I'm not sure

people know to brush their teeth, yet how many times do people skip brushing? they know they should, but they still don't
everyone thinks they are the exception, but they arent.
