Low Cholesterol, high lp(a)

Post Number:#1  Post by Sacally4 » Tue Apr 12, 2016 4:39 pm

To summarize:

- alzheimer, pd
- aortic valve replacement
- stroke

Results from one year ago, with statin and unfortunately no lp(a) checked

Code: Select all

Cholesterol 175 < 190 mg/dl
HDL-cholesterol 42 > 40 mg/dl
LDL-cholesterol 80 < 115 mg/dl
Cholesterol/HDL 4,2 < 5,0
non-HDL cholesterol + 133 < 130 mg/dL
Triglyceriden + 264 < 150 mg/dl

Started 2 months ago PT and stopped statin right away.
Blood lab this week:

Code: Select all

Cholesterol 175 < 190 mg/dL
HDL-cholesterol 42 > 40 mg/dL
LDL-cholesterol 103 < 115 mg/dL
Cholesterol/HDL 4,2 < 5,0
non-HDL cholesterol + 133 < 130 mg/dL
Triglyceriden 148 < 150 mg/dL
Lipoproteine (a) + 395 < 300 mg/l

Giving
20g aa and 2 x 5 lipo c
6g lysine
ubiquinone 400mg
no statin but enoxaparin

I wonder if I should add 2g extra of lysine because currently only on soya "tube feed enriched with 1.5g/100ml of Multi Fibre"?
I'm going to add proline 2g.

sidenote:
We're treating a bacterial infection so I added 5 lipo c and 20g aa. Lots of bloating because of strong oral antibiotics, so I can't go higher with aa.
Actually the bacteria had to be treated with iv-antibiotics because they were resistant to oral AB. We think because of the vitamin c the oral AB worked anyway. CRP and leukocytes are now back to normal!

Any thoughts ?

Your report matches the experience of my neighbor who was also on IV antibiotics, and should have lost her leg to an infection, but Lypo-C resolved it
