what is going on with PT? collagen or antioxidant?

I thought the basis for Pauling therapy was to make more collagen
this is because the arteries get worn(high blood pressure and mechanical strain) cause the vessal to need to be repaired....bring in collagen.
no collagen??
then the body uses Lp(a)
Lp(a) forms plaques via LBS etc

then I read"
We now know that vitamin E may be almost of equal importance as vitamin C/lysine/proline. Magnesium and CoQ10 are right there."

how is this? what does Vit E do?
Or does vit C, via antioxidant power, lower chance of CAD ?
if so, how? what is the mechanism that is causing CAD if not what I said above(bold). what causes fat to stick to artery walls?
