I dont know what medications he was on, but here is a little info from Wiki on the death, I will try to find medications though

Russert's long time friend and physician, Dr. Michael Newman, said that he had asymptomatic coronary artery disease that was controlled with medication and exercise and that he had performed well on a stress test in late April. An autopsy performed on the day of his death determined that his history of coronary artery disease led to sudden cardiac death with the immediate cause being an occlusive coronary thrombus in the left anterior descending artery, resulting from a ruptured cholesterol plaque.

EDIT: It seems no one knows what medications he was on yet, and that doctors may release more info later, but if anyone can find out the answer I am very curious to find out too.

^ Good to see an article like that arise

EDIT: Found something else

Tim Russert was a good patient, taking medications for his heart disease and exercising, his doctor said. He had no chest pains and he passed an exercise stress test weeks ago. Yet at 58, he suffered a heart attack and died.

It has been reported that in addition to the "unspecified" statin Russert was on Avandia for diabetes control.
