Asparagus for weight loss?

Post Number:#1  Post by ofonorow » Sun Jul 10, 2022 8:27 am

An investment service I subscribe (which predicts a major upcoming market crash ahead BTW) reported from a medical conference on the diabetes drug Tirzepatide. Glasko Smith Kline has FDA-trialed this drug for weight loss, and it was approved. Those on the drug averaged 40 lbs of weight loss without significant side effects.

Apparently weight loss has been observed among several diabetes drugs, ostensibly because of a depressing effect on an appetite hormone.

So I was rereading LIVER RESCUE by Anthony William, and on page 347, he writes that after eating asparagus and brussels sprouts:

Liver Rescue wrote:You may find yourself the most full and satisfied you've ever been on this (3-6-9) cleanse. That's in part because asparagus and brussels sprouts are appetite suppressors. When you consume them, your liver is aware that you're doing something for it, since they send it the message to cleanse. Upon receiving that message, the liver releases an unknown hormone-based chemical compound into the bloodstream and drives it up to the brain to shut down the appetite and also to the adrenals to calm them and stop them from becoming alarmed so the liver can cleanse appropriately. It's another of the over 2,000 undiscovered chemical functions of the liver.

Earlier, in the description of the Liver Healing Foods..

Liver Rescue, p. 286 wrote:Asparagus: Provide a wealth of flavonoids, many of them undiscovered or unstudied, that are highly anti-inflammatory; they act as a natural aspirin and soothe a hot, overburdened, struggling liver. The liver's ability to cleanse increases greatly from this calming effect. Asparagus brings order to the chaotic, sick liver. This liver's immune system strengthens instantly from asparagus. It increases bile production yet doesn't allow the liver to overwork itself in producing bile. Helps dislodge fat cells, expelling them from the liver. Helps rejuvenate the liver's deep, inner core. Asparagus is one of the most liver healing foods. Consider putting it on the menu at least a few times a week.

Can you freeze asparagus and have it retain all the positive nutritional effects? Brussels sprouts are not appealing to me but I can stand asparagus.

If you believe google...

Freeze the Asparagus
Transfer the asparagus to freezer bags and label them with the date. Don't overcrowd the bags — these are delicate vegetables, not items in carry-on luggage. You want to keep the pieces in a single layer so they'll freeze quickly and last for up to 8 months.Apr 30, 2020
