Does oral asorbic acid interfere with systemic enzymes?

Post Number:#1  Post by Telefunk » Sat May 06, 2023 9:04 am

I've been taking nattokinase for circulatory health as well as digestive enzymes with meals. I wonder how oral ascorbic acid (AA) interacts with oral enzymes. I found this study that found AA inhibits amylase.

I try to take the AA separately from nattokinase but they both are best on an empty stomach (I do an ascorbate flush weekly). I wonder how long apart they should be spaced, if at all.

A major implication of such inhibition is a slowed rate of starch digestion into glucose, which thereby reduces postprandial hyperglycemia

interfere doesn't seem to be the appropriate word. I read this showing ascorbic slows down the production of glucose, a good thing.
