Air contamination of Vitamin C

For someone whos vitamin C solution, mixed from powder, was not mixed in a cleanroom or sterile environment, just a normal house, is there risk of contamination. I.e. can air particles be dangerous? Do millipore filters catch this stuff?

The nurses advise me to not even pull back saline flushes with the cap off because of air contamination.

I take 80gms IVC once a month, in my kitchen with no issues for the last 7 years...trying to make a few more buck & nuisance values.........

Right, but I'm not talking about taking the IV in the kitchen. I am talking about if the powder was exposed to normal air while mixing it into sterile water for the IV. Big difference.

I'm not concerned about where I am when the drip is hooked up, I'm concerned that if the iv solution was prepared in a non-sterile environment, i.e. powder jar opened and put into the vial in a non-sterile environment, does that pose a major risk?

I think we need to be very careful about what we say "no, that's fine" to on here without understanding fully the situation.

Are you saying you mix your own IVC in the kitchen, or that you have some bioniche or other pre-prepared vial that you administer in the kitchen. Those are two very different things.

The VC powder that I use for myself is exposed to normal air, before I make the IV. Before infusing check the ph & is mostly 8.0.

I make my own IVC in my my kitchen in a totally non sterile conditions vs an operating room or an ICU.....not once but monthly for the last 7 years.....

Yea, just your process... e.g. if you use sterile vials, what kind of drip, if you use magnetic stirrer, etc.

Dr Cathcart claimed the 50/50 stock solution - 50% sodium ascorbate - is germicidal. Kills everything, and he didn't even use microfilters in his many years of practice, over 20,000 patients, etc. I recently met an Indian doctor here at our store (he was visiting from India - on way to Riordan Clinic) who told me exactly the same thing. 50/50 stock solution kills everything. Is self sterilizing.

Now, I still don't really understand why the milder solutions, such as BioNiche, are clear, while the more effective Cathcart like sodium ascorbate solutions are yellow.
