Pauling's Theory Question

I take Pauling's Recommendations; I am having back surgery on the 16th. Should I cut back on Vitamin-C, L-Lysine and L-Proline.
I take 16-18 Grams Vitamin-C, 6 Grams L-Lysine and 4 Grams L-Proline.

In Irwin Stone's book (available here for download somewhere) he credited the surviving of an otherwise probably fatal car crash to his high doses of ascorbic acid. Any surgery anyway will drop your ascorbic acid stores to almost nought. Proline and Lysine aren't blood-thining, so I don't see a problem there.

If you need to be fasted for a time period before, I would stop the amino-acids then. But vitamin C I would even double up before any surgery up right to when passing out.

How did it go? The one reason to lower vitamin C before the surgery is the worry that vitamin C may block the anesthetic in some people. I have had general anesthesia now more than 10 times without an issue. I never altered my vitamin C intake before, but increased it after every surgery.

Surgery went Great, had more wrong than just needing a Fusion, there was a Cyst growing on my spine and wrapped around nerves. So instead of minimal invasive, he had to open to get all of the cyst, and then do the Fusion.
I Cut back on Vitamin-C from 18 Grams daily to 10 Grams 2 days before surgery.
As soon as I woke, I started taking my regular dosing of Vitamin-C + Lipo-C.

Doc said with all he had to do I would probably be in the hospital 3-5 days,
I was up and walking 5 hours after surgery. They were all surprised and I was discharged the day after Surgery.
