Just to add an example to Seadog's comment,SEADOG wrote:The human body has to come to an end sometime but this does not undermine the efficacy of Vit C in any way.
Probably Linus Pauling lived to be 93 because of Vit C and we must not forget that he started on Vit C in his 60's.
Nherdboi, that sounds to me like the way I want to "go out!"Rabbits with both kidneys surgically removed uniformly die in three to four days. If, however, these animals without kidneys are injected with a mixture of ascorbic acid and p-aminobenzoic acid, the scientists state; "The duration of survival was strikingly increased, ranging from five and a half to eight and a half days. Even more striking was the improved condition of the animals during most of the period of survival. They were alert, active, and in most respects behaved like normal rabbits until a few hours prior to death."" -- http://vitamincfoundation.org/stone/Chap17-22.htm#C22

There are some other scientists and proponents of vitamins which failed to kill
themselves with vitamins:
- Abram Hoffer, born 1917, http://www.islandnet.com/~hoffer/ ;
- Theodore P. Jorgensen, born 1904,
http://www.vitamincfoundation.org/jorgensen.htm ;
- Denham Harman, born 1916,
http://www.nebraska.edu/about/pioneers.asp?p=27 ;
Some succeded, but it took some time:
- Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, 1893-1986;
- Linus Pauling, 1901-1994;
- Ernst Mayer, 1904-2005 (biologist, took vitamin E for years);
- Norman Walker, raw-foodist, invented juicer, 1867-1985, there are claims
that his correct age was 109, not 118 when he died.
