After delving into Jack Kruse's light theories (that made it possible for him to drop 150 lbs in one year - using sunlight and natural circadian rhythms) I decided to try the blue-light blocking glasses you always see Kruse and his disciples wearing. For years I have had no trouble staying up late after dinner, watching various media. The first time I put on the full blue light blockers - Boom, I literally passed out during the first show. Its almost miraculous. Try to stay awake in the evening wearing a full blue-blocking glasses, I don't think its possible.
Actually, our bodies expect short wavelength blue light around noon. That is how our bodies internally sync to what time it is.
There is nothing inherently harmful about the blue light, except at other times of day, it screws up our circadian rhythm as the body is continually fooled about what time it is. Thus the blue light coming off our artificial light, phones and computers, especially at night, keeps people from sleeping. Wear the full blue blockers later in the day - and try to stay awake at night!
Aside, blue light has its uses, however, we can become addicted to blue light. Kruse even claims that if you are burned, you want to use blue light to help heal the burns. The problem is seeing blue light at times of day other than noon.
Here are the glasses (clip ons) I bought, partial blocking: for working on the computer, and full bluelight blocking for use after noon until bed time.
